Districts Enters Phase 2: The Build Phase

Builders, creators, visionaries—it’s time we build.
Districts is moving into Phase 2: The Build Phase.
Over the past few months, we’ve laid a strong foundation for a world where digital ownership is intuitive, immersive, and transparent. From launching the insights dashboard to bring clarity into the ecosystem, to introducing 30-day Marketplace listing expirations to create healthier market dynamics, we’ve focused on building trust and usability at every step.
Next, we’re expanding into District Land Pixel staking and governance voting, letting the community decide what new Districts unlock. As these initiatives take shape, we’re shifting gears from exploration to construction, hard hats and all, bringing to life the vision of Districts as a platform where anyone can build, own, monetize, and shape the virtual world.

Building Tools are Being Explored
From 3D renderings to simple building blocks, our product team is exploring it all. Our priority is clear: to provide a core set of build features that ensure District owners have a meaningful and intuitive creation experience. It will be far more than placing cubes in space; it’s about empowering owners, brands, architects, and creators to build usable, engaging experiences.
Here’s what we’re exploring:
Build tools
Build your own 3D objects directly within Districts using blocks. Switch easily between build mode, where you place new blocks with simple clicks, and selection mode, where you can click to select, group, or edit blocks already placed. This enables flexible creation workflows that are intuitive and powerful.

Import tools
Upload or import 3D models from Blender, Maya, and more, then position and scale them seamlessly within parcels. Future plans include integrating block cost calculations based on imported model size and complexity.
Material and texture features
Apply predefined materials such as stone, grass, and facade textures, or solid colours, to transform basic shapes into meaningful, realistic structures.
Interactivity settings
Embed Spotify playlists, crypto contracts, files, or call-to-actions to transform static builds into dynamic digital districts. Imagine music playing as visitors enter your build, or hidden AR coupons revealed on-site.
Edit tools (rotation, grouping, selections, scale)
Rotate objects, group multiple blocks into single selectable units, and manage selections efficiently. Resize objects with intuitive drag handles (similar to Figma) or precise width and height inputs for advanced control. Scaling integrates with block costs to strike a balance between creativity and strategy.

Export objects to the Marketplace
Save and publish grouped objects or builds directly to the Districts Marketplace. Name your creation, categorize it (e.g. tree, building, statue), and set a price for others to purchase and incorporate into their builds.
Roles and editor permissions
Assign editor roles to builders, freelancers, or agencies to manage builds collaboratively. This is especially critical for real estate developers or brands working with distributed creative teams.
The Marketplace is Key
The Districts’ Marketplace will be essential during the Build Phase, empowering you to transform your designs, creations, and skills into tangible value. Whether you’re crafting immersive renderings, developing assets for others to use, or activating the future of architecture, the Marketplace gives you the tools to showcase your work, share it with the community, and monetize your expertise.

What’s Next?
Phase 2 is all about giving you the tools to build your world—and unlocking ways to monetize what you create. In the weeks ahead, we’ll be:
Finalizing the first set of Build Phase features
Assessing what’s technically feasible for new tools, and how best to integrate your creations into the Marketplace
Exploring new ways for landowners and builders to monetize their creations
Advancing RWA (real-world asset) integrations—including the “Zillow-like platform” we teased, which remains a key part of our vision
Exploring new utilities for $DSTRX holders and Land Owners
We’re building Districts to match the ambition of its creators. Thank you for being a Districts pioneer!
